Justin Rhodes

Coaching relationship: July 2020 – present

Justin’s case study is remarkable. As he became eligible to compete in Senior events, he has completely transformed his game, making the decision to get stronger and longer. His driving was a strength of his – very accurate and consistent, but he knew there was a better version.

To his credit, he set out to hit it further and straighter stepping out of the comfort zone– his current numbers now place in the upper reaches of his competitors. Some numbers… (note that they are average, not top speed)

Previous:

Clubhead Speed average – 104mph

Ball Speed Average – 151mph

Attack Angle -3 degrees down

Average carry – 225 yards

Peak Height – 60ft

Spin – 3500rpm

Current:

Clubhead Speed average – 111.5mph

Ball Speed Average – 160mph

Attack Angle – 2 degrees up

Average carry – 275 yards

Peak Height – 90

Spin – 2700rpm

In 2023, Justin capped off a year of steady progress by winning the Elite Amateur Golf Group Pairs finals alongside his partner Ben Welch. The brought the title home for Woburn GC and narrowly missed out on the Team title as well. As he continues to improve, the margins get much tighter, but his desire to be continually better is extremely impressive.
